Original features were left exposed such as the high window wooden shutters structural wood frames and coffered ceilings. Living area, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and kitchen make up this cozy pied-à-terre.

Barcelona Eixample Penthouse

All of the partition walls of this 1940’s apartment were taken down in order to accommodate a larger living area as well as an open kitchen. Larger openings such as a 3 meter long sliding door were integrated in the facade to ease the circulation between the interior of the apartment and the south facing terrace.

Barcelona Loft

The existing office space that was once occupying this magnificent 19th century city apartment was completely revamped into 2 urban lofts: all existing partition walls were demolished to accommodate the program contained in the new client brief: living room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in each loft in a more contemporary space in which we could appreciate the main architectural features such as original ceiling beams and redbrick walls. The lofts, featured in this website, are called Girona Migdia Apartment and Girona Barri Vell Apartment.

Country House in Baix Empordà

Full renovation of an 18th century country house, located in a small village some 120km north of Barcelona. The house was in poor condition when the owner bought it: the roof was partly destructed, the thick stone walls crumbling down and the garden abandoned and overgrown. The major challenge was to bring back to life the architectural features such as wood ceiling beams masonry walls and arches that were concealed behind century old layers of plaster. A porch was added on the east facing side of the house to balance the volumes and create additional entertaining areas.

Barcelona Downtown Apartment

The brief was the full renovation of a run down 60’s apartment. Most of the partition walls were taken down to get the most out of the natural light and to gain back the maximum space possible lost in absurd corridors and lobbies. An open kitchen forced the ceiling to be reinforced with 2 steel beams adding an industrial allure to the whole.

Barcelona Sarrià Apartment

Full renovation of an apartment located in a building designed by famous architect Jose Antonio Coderch. The 60’s apartment had 6 bedrooms and many lost m2 in corridors and lobbies. Many partition walls were taken down allowing for a deep redesigning of the floor plan according to the client’s brief.

Country House in France

Renovation project and new addition to an existing country house. Located at the top of a hill with magnificent views of the Alps, the new house is divided in 3 levels: the formal area on the ground floor includes the family dining room, lounge and majlis that connect to a large outdoor terrace overlooking the mountains. 3 guest bedrooms are also located on this level. On the first floor there are 2 master bedrooms and 3 double bedrooms, all ensuite. On the basement level there are 6 ensuite guest bedrooms, 3 of which open to the front lawns connecting to the main terrace on the ground floor through the gardens. A cinema room, a gym, hammam, steam room, massage and treatment room, kids play room and large staff quarters including 5 staff rooms can also be found on this level. This project was developed in collaboration with K/M2K Architects.

Barcelona Passeig de Gracia Swimming Pool

Located on the rooftop of a 19th century building in the prestigious Paseo de Gracia boulevard, this sky high swimming pool design was a challenge from the first moment. A decision was made to line the pool with stainless steel plates to avoid leaking to lower level floors. One of the sides was to be lined with large blue glass pieces half submerged in water . These had to be fixed to the stainless steel plates (which in turn were cladded to the existing wall) with a special bonding product to avoid breaking from expansion of the steel. In the end it all worked out and the client’s desire of keeping in synch with the breathtaking views was met.
